A return to Art for Lol Bush.

Lol Bush has returned to art after a nearly twenty-year hiatus. She studied art at school and dreamed of making it her career. She was offered a scholarship to study art in Zimbabwe, where she lived, however Lol had to pursue another path and moved to the UK. Living in London in her 20s, with long office hours, commutes, and immersing herself in the culture made for little spare time. Lol moved to Hawke’s Bay in 2011 with her family, and now her two sons are at school, she finally has been able to devote time to art.

Lol sells her paintings online, initially inspired by the chalk drawing of Amai Danai and now moving on to try other mediums and styles, trawling library books and the internet to learn more. Other inspiration comes from anything that catches her eye – a shape, shadow or colour – and the subject is often born after she starts painting. Lol would love her art to be known as vibrant, eye catching and fun.
