Riverbank Market is Lower Hutt's largest public market running for more than 16 years in the heart of Lower Hutt City.

The Riverbank Carpark is transformed into a open-air market every Saturday where you can spend many hours shopping, dining and socialising. Running for more than 16 years in the heart of Lower Hutt City, it is a great place to meet up with friends, family and whanua enjoy tasty breakfast or lunch.

Thousands of market-goers converge each week to purchase their supply of fresh fruit and veg, ingredients for meals while enjoying a hot coffee or grab a bite to eat from the plethora of food trucks. Dining at the market is as close to travelling around the world but through food - well-known food trucks like Rescue Coffee, Roti, Tandoori Masala, Pink Donkey, The Dosa Box, Chimney Cakes and Simply Bahn mi are a few of the more than a dozen trucks offering up freshly prepared delicacies.
Doing the weekly shop? On offer at the market, each Saturday includes fruit & veges from Moshims MMK Wellington, GB Gardens to name a couple of the many fruit and vege trucks. Henry's Poultry, tofu, quail eggs, raw honey, cheese, bread from Bourdeaux Bakery and Shelly Bay Bakery, meats from J & Z International Supa Foods, Herb Lady herbs and spices, from Spice Tree and more. Sweets on offer include Murray's cakes and Croissant, Cakes and Bakery, but are not limited to just those two! Non-food items include furniture, locally made crafts, firewood and bric 'a' brac. Adding a festive tone to the market is musical entertainment each week by local buskers.

The Riverbank Market is working towards being plastic-free and encourages all shoppers to bring their own shopping bags and containers. Parking is $2 per hour in the Riverbank Carpark, which can be paid using Pay My Park app or cash/EFTPOS/credit card at the parking machine. Two-hour free on-street parking throughout the CBD. The Riverbank Market is on rain or shines every Saturday between 6 AM-2 PM. The Riverbank Carpark entrance is on Daly Street in the Southend of the High Street in Lower Hutt.
