Once again Riverside Community Trust will host its popular & unique Music Festival - this time in cooperation with local Extinction Rebellion and with the theme 'Toitū te Taiao - Our Planet, Our Future'.
Featuring some of our best local, national and international artists, and plenty of opportunities for engaging in constructive dialogue on what our planet is facing, this year's Festival will provide for a fun-filled, inspiring day out which will celebrate and encourage more positive actions on our Climate Crisis.
Amongst others, Kallidad, Rabbit Hole, Tommy & The Fallen Horses, Soul Kitchen, Koffie Fugah, Tillermann, and many more exciting artists will share their talents in dance, theatre, poetry, singing, magic, physical theatre and circus on Sunday, 16th February 2020, from 12 midday to 11pm at night.
Our famous waterslide, adventure playground, art activities, circus arts, games and pony rides will provide for plenty of kids entertainment in the heart of NZ's oldest intentional Community. Through interactive workshops, music and theatre, youth will have the chance to reflect on the issues our planet is experiencing and explore ways of getting involved for making a positive difference.
Extinction Rebellion will be on site and festival-goers will have the chance to engage in constructive dialogue and ask penty of questions.
A variety of healthy, nutritious and delicious food made from sustainably sourced ingredients will cater for different dietary options. There will also be several stalls selling creative and beautiful products, made by local crafts people and artists.
Naturally, this is a Zero Waste event and a wash station for dishes will be provided. You can either bring your own dishes (to take home with you again) or use provided ones which will need to be returned.
Whether you are new to the whole Climate Emergency discussion or an old climate change soul, this Riverside Music Festival does not want to dwell in some fatalistic doomsday mood, but instead showcase how community spirit, creativity and conscious choices can positively alter the future of our planet and children. Let’s get together and celebrate the future of our planet! Together we can make a change!
