Chiron Group New Zealand is delighted to host sought-after NZ violinist Ben Baker at this exclusive event for string teachers and professionals. Ben will be speaking and encouraging and open discussion on how we introduce music to children and on the physicality of being a musician - how we encourage our bodies to facilitate and gradually accept the unnatural challenge of playing an instrument. Refreshments will be provided.
Since winning 1st Prize at the 2016 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York and 3rd Prize at the 2017 Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand, Ben Baker has established a strong international presence as a solo and chamber musician. Ben has performed with acclaimed ensembles including the English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and BBC Concert and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras. He has toured the USA, Colombia, China, Argentina, Lebanon, Australia, and New Zealand.
