Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

This evening course runs over six Tuesdays starting 4 August 6:15 - 7:15pm or Wednesdays 7:30 - 8:30 PM starting 21 October 2020.

Bring your dance partner and enjoy easy dance moves with clear demonstration of dance steps and movements in this introduction to Rock'n'Roll and Jive dancing. Course fee $130 per couple.

Covered in this six-week class:
- Basic sequence, lady right and left turns, man change of hands behind the back, American spin
- American spin and review American spin, Comb, Link, Combination Lady Right turn, side basic hip check and hand-clap.
- Double handed ladies turn to mans left. followed by double handed ladies turn to mans right (twice) and return to basic
- Windmill, Whip, Mooch, Roll of the arm followed alternatively by repeat then ladies right turn, then return to basic.

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes for dancing - no high or sharp heels.

Dance instructor: Don Cooke. Don also teaches the following introductory level courses at Selwyn Community Education: Swing Dancing, Latin and Ballroom, Intro to Reggaeton, Salsa and Bachata and Dance to the Music.

Places are limited on this course, due to floor space in the studio, so please enrol prior to the course starting to ensure you secure your places. If you are wishing to register as a single dancer, please contact the office first to see whether a dance partner will be available for you.
