Twice as Good Productions presents the highly acclaimed Olivier and Tony Award wining play Skylight by David Hare about both the state of the heart and of the nation, as relevant today as when it was first staged in 1995.
Kyra used to work for and sleep with Tom, a successful restaurateur but when his wife discovered the affair Kyra left and they haven't seen each other since. Tom, now a widower and adrift turns up at Kyra's council flat in hopes of succour, salvation and turning back time's pitiless clock. At first he receives a chilly reception and not only because of Kyra's futile electric heater.

David Hare; Playwright
Sir David Hare is an English playwright, screenwriter and theatre and film director. Hare received Academy Award nominations for The Hours and The Reader.
In the West End, he had his greatest success with the plays Plenty, which he adapted into a film starring Meryl Streep, Skylight (1997), and Amy's View which all received Tony Award nominations for Best Play and Laurence Olivier Awards for Best New Play. He has several critics' awards such as the New York Drama Critics Circle Award and received the Golden Bear in 1985. Skylight also received Tony and Olivier Awards for its 2015 revival starring Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan.

Trained at R.A.D.A. London, TVI Studios, Los Angeles and Stella Adler Academy, New York. Artistic Director of Twice as Good Productions. Her one woman show “Shakespeare’s Will” in which she played Anne Hathaway received HK Arts Award for Best Production in 2010 and has toured Prague, Auckland and Tauranga. Recently produced and directed highly acclaimed open air Shakespeare productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and As You Like It and Oscar Wilde’s Importance of Being Ernest in Tauranga.
Received 2019 A.C.T.T. Award for Outstanding Comedy for Direction of Ben Elton’s play Popcorn at the Rose Centre.

Takapuna Grammar student Ryan aged 16 is taking on his most challenging role as Tom’s son. Ryan has attended Tim Bray Youth Theatre for 6 years and been a student in Suzy’s workshops for Tim Bray Productions for the last year.
