This will be our second "Sounds Good @ Butler Point" following on from our fantastic first concert at Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2019, which featured Nathan Haines and his full band giving us a superb show.

For our 2020 January 25th we have a Far North band "Markyboy" Wilson & Moxieblue who are Jazz/Blues specialists who will be entertaining us pre Hollie Smith and her band. We are very fortunate to also have NZ's leading jazz musician, Nathan Haines, as a guest artist joining Hollie and her band.

For those of you who have not yet been to Butler Point, it is a special place. There is an excellent whaling museum and the original wooden houses built by Captain Butler in the 1840's. The grounds are fantastic, with some of New Zealand's oldest and largest Pohutukawa trees. It is amongst these beautiful trees that our stage is set up and you can enjoy the concert. There is wonderful beer and wine on sale from Kerikeri's Kainui Brewery. Food is also for sale featuring Za Foodies with Karaage chicken and other offerings which includes vegan, and Cafe Jerusalem with middle eastern and Israeli food, both from Kerikeri.

There is free parking onsite. Entry for children under 12 is free.

Bring some seating equipment, camp chair, blanket, cushion etc. as this is a casual picnic situation. Sorry, we do not have a BYO Licence. Wine and beer for sale on sight plus free water.

Hollie Smith is one of New Zealand's most predominant & iconic musicians. After working with numerous bands including Trinity Roots, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Detroit dance legend Recloose, she was approached by NZ songwriting royalty Don McGlashan to perform on the movie soundtrack ‘No.2’, recording the single ‘Bathe in The River’ that topped the New Zealand singles charts, peaking at number two and spending 37 weeks on the charts. ‘Bathe in the River’ has since become one of the biggest and most iconic singles in New Zealand history, showcasing her breathtaking and soulful talent to the world.
Over Winter 2019, Hollie started her Intimate New Song Showcase tour that took her across the country for the latter part of the year as she road tested new material in unique venues in both the North & South Island. All fourteen shows sold out and received raved reviews as Hollie Smith wowed crowds with her raw talent and vulnerability.

Hollie Smith is a prolific hardworking singer, songwriter, and performer who has always maintained a highly respected reputation of creating music with the utmost integrity & passion. Her incredible live performances and powerhouse vocals have made her one of the most sought after acts in the New Zealand music industry.

We are also helping to raise some funds for the Far North Marine Radio and Rescue boat which is run by volunteers from the local community.
