The Podium Series returns to the Auckland Town Hall and Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre with symphony and songs. Opening with Berlioz’s energetic Le Corsaire Overture, renowned tenor Simon O’Neill joins the Orchestra to perform a selection of works from two of the greatest romantic composers - Mahler and Richard Strauss.

Prokofiev described his victorious Symphony No. 5 as ‘a hymn to free and happy Man, to his mighty powers, his pure and noble spirit.’
