This is a two day hands on course building your own set of spoon blade oars.
Over the two days you will learn how to select suitable timber for oars, mark and cut the tapered blanks then eight side and finally round the shafts, the blades will then be cut and glued to tapered shafts and shaped and finally sanded.
course costs includes high quality Oregan timber for a pair of 6'-7' oars you will take home to varnish and fit leathers (varnish and leathers not included).
The Tutor is Mark Robinson who has built many sets of oars including many of the Kawhia racing whaleboats oars.
Min of 3 and max of five students.
