As white Burgundy prices continue to climb due to a combination of demand and scarcity, collectors and drinkers in particular have started searching for the hidden gems in outer-lying communes. In this class, we delve deep into the two valleys running west of the main villages.
St.-Aubin, continuing from the slope behind Montrachet; and Auxey-Duresses, which turns into St.-Romain - in the Combe behind Meursault. With the onset of climate change in Burgundy, these cooler-climate sites are coming into their own, acheiving ripeness reliably most years. With a slew of well-regarded names representing these vineyards - Hubert Lamy, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Morey-Blanc, Alain Gras, Etienne de Montille, Benjamin Leroux and Nicolas Potel amongst others, there is no reason to overlook these communes now.
Come join our resident Master of Wine and burgundy lover, Stephen Wong on an exploration of emerging greatness here in the western communes of the Côte de Beaune. We have limited seats, so please book early to secure your spot.
