Stylized Flora by Narelle Huggins

Deciduus warmly invites you to the opening of “Stylized Flora” – a solo show by Narelle Huggins opening Saturday 29 February from 2-4pm at Deciduus Gallery on 23 Main Road Tirau.

The series draws inspiration from mid 20th Century Design and the artist’s collection of heirloom pieces and ‘pre-loved’ treasures sourced from ‘second-hand’ shops over the years to decorate their 1970’s family home situated on the outskirts of Cambridge.

Each painting is a thoughtful arrangement and deliberate composition, depicting real flowers and plants in semi realist, abstract settings. The focal planes are slightly flattened with the objects largely viewed square on, blending into the stylized patterns found on the tablecloths, curtains and items used.

The Exhibition runs until 31 March.
