Personal trainer Lauren Ashton is going to Sweat with Pride for the month of August, raising much needed funds to support Aotearoa's rainbow communities.
Lauren (known on stage as Trillian) has joined forces with her friend in Auckland, Nat Hugill aka Lilly Loca...together they are the Glistening Showgirls.
To aid their efforts, Lauren is hosting a 30 minute Group Fitness class every Wednesday afternoon in August to share the love (and the sweat) with the members of her home gym, Cityfitness Palmerston North CBD.
Each class has a colourful 80's theme and will have a different focus every week. The classes are $5 each and 100% of the cash will be donated.
Big thank you to Cityfitness for donating the fabulous group fitness studio for this to happen.

Everyday life is still much too hard for Aotearoa's Rainbow communities. Stigma and discrimination lead to much higher rates of mental illness and suicide. And then there are the physical illnesses - STIs like syphilis and HIV disproportionately affect our community. I'm taking a stand by Sweating for 21 minutes a day this August to help fund projects that improve the mental and physical health of Rainbow New Zealanders.
