This will be a special, Halloween edition of Tall Poppies Story Slam. Costumes are strongly encouraged (even if your costume is just a freshly, re-grown sheath of human cells.)

***What is this show?
Tall Poppies is a show in which you (the audience) are invited to prepare a five to seven-minute, TRUE story, about yourself. The theme this time is FEAR. We want your stories about moments when fight or flight kicked in. Perceived supernatural experiences, clear and present danger, exotic phobias and more. We are also accepting stories about the biggest fears of all : fear of success, failure, commitment, and meeting one's own self! Bwa ha haaaaa! *cough cough.
Inspired by the internationally acclaimed storytelling show The Moth, Tall Poppies is an opportunity for folks from all walks of life to craft and share a five to seven-minute gem.

***Do I have to tell a story?
NO, most of the audience will just watch. But seven names will be drawn to share their stories and anyone who might want to tell a story is STRONGLY encouraged to prepare one and give it a go!
----------------------------------------------------------------
***Is there a PRIZE?
YES! There is a prize. There will be teams of judges selected from the audience at the start of the show. Each story will be scored (figure skating style.)
----------------------------------------------------------------
This week’s theme is: FEAR

How do I prepare a story? GOOD QUESTION! Here is some advice to get started:
>Use the broad theme of the evening to inspire memories of personal, life-changing experiences. Choose one of you most memorable and share the moments leading up to and after the experience.
>Humor is always welcome, but don’t feel obligated to be funny. True voices on stage are just as powerful as humor.
>Try writing it down to get it down to five minutes and to pinpoint the most crucial moments you want to include.
Here is an example of a great story that takes life’s little moments and gives them big impact: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HX2xwLwWM_E&list=PLv3JUIhK8jXqjhdPXajYOS71oQPvaxQO-&index=67
***Can I workshop my story before hand?
YES! If you would like to workshop you story before the event, don’t hesitate to contact Robin Wachsberger (robinwachsberger@gmail.com).
