This workshop is for those wishing to extend their knowledge and gain hands on experience in Mirimiri, Romiromi, Rongoā Māori and other Māori Healing forms.
Tauira/Participants must have attended one of our Level 1 Introduction to Māori Healing and/or Rongoā Māori workshops or have similar training or mahi experience to attend.
The day will begin with a Whakawhanaungatanga opening activation beneath the tuahu of Te Tihi o Kahukura and then open into a revision of Tikanga mo ona Kawa o Mirimiri.
Topics of focus will be:
Karakia
Purea/Whakawatea - how to cleanse, heal and activate
Tapu and Boundaries - how to create and anchor for self; whānau and mahi
Preparation for Mirimiri - how to set up your atea ready for mahi
Focus and intentions
Mauri, Honohono and Whakapapa
Te Taiao - the natural world and our elemental connection to it
Mirimiri methods and Tikanga
Te Whare Tapa Wha
Maramataka
Tools, techniques and magick
Taonga Pūoro and sound Healing
After the morning revision; tauira will work in groups on one another and then we will open up the clinic for whānau and the community from 1pm - 7pm (possibly longer)
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience and to build your confidence in working with turoro which you can utilise in developing your own practice.
We would encourage tauira to engage in noho puku or fasting (or minimal kai) for the duration of the wananga; this is to ensure and increase the mauri you can anchor and utilise for your Mirimiri.
Everyone will break the fast at the end of clinic with a shared kai so we ask everyone to bring a plate or offering to share.
Rongoā Māori, Juices, Coffee, Teas, fruit and Cacao will be available throughout the day to keep everyone vibing.
This is an OPEN AND ALL-INCLUSIVE event so all ages, genders and cultures are welcome to attend.
