Fa’ana Saipaia emigrated from Samoa with her family, one of the early groups of pioneer Pacific families who came to New Zealand in the 1950s. Fa’ana will share her journey of learning English and the challenges she faced, how she overcame those difficulties to become a fluent English speaker while still keeping her mother tongue. With these language skills Fa’ana now helps others in her community.
