Sarah Hudson, renowned contemporary artist and Exhibitions Curator of Te Kōputu te whanga a Toi, will lead The Art of Looking, a kid-focused exploration of the dynamic, exciting and sometimes confusing world of contemporary art.
The workshop will tap into the participant’s ability to 'read' art. With accessible prompting questions such as ‘I see...’, ‘I feel...’ or ‘I think the artist wants us to...’ this workshop aims to give young people confidence in their art interpretation ability. Participants will tour work from the finalists and winners of 2020 Molly Morpeth Canaday Art Competition, giving them a rare opportunity to experience the very best examples of New Zealand contemporary three dimensional artforms.
This workshop is free for all visitors of all ages. Visitors under 10 years old should be accompanied by an adult.
