The Capital Band will soon be playing their inaugural concert as Wellington’s most out-of-the-box classical music ensemble.
The Band is an innovative and exciting group of younger semi-professional, amateur, and non-fulltime musicians and comprises current and former members of Orchestra Wellington, the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra, the New Zealand School of Music ensembles, and various other orchestras in the greater Wellington region.
All of the Band’s concerts in their 2020/2021 season will take place in the gorgeous Vogelmorn Hall in Wellington and - fair warning - each of the four gigs will be a little different in terms of process, seating (or lack of *), and lighting.
You can bring your own blankets, cushions, drinks, and friends. And of course, there will be free admittance - please register on Eventfinda for a ticket as the hall's capacity is extremely limited when the Band are in there and social distancing is in effect. This will be the most exclusive classical gig of the year...
