After a "most impressive first outing", The Capital Band is looking forward to their second concert as Wellington’s most out-of-the-box classical music ensemble.

The Band is an innovative and exciting group of younger semi-professional, amateur, and non-fulltime musicians and comprises current and former members of Orchestra Wellington, the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra, the New Zealand School of Music ensembles, this year's winning quartet at the NZCT Chamber Music Concert, and various other ensembles in the greater Wellington region.

All of the Band’s concerts in their 2020/2021 season will take place in the gorgeous Vogelmorn Hall in Wellington and - fair warning - each of the four gigs will be a little different in terms of process, seating (or lack of *), and lighting.

You can bring your own blankets, cushions, drinks, and friends. And of course, there will be free admittance, with koha entry for those of you who would like to support the Band.

The programme will be as follows:

6.45pm Doors

7.30pm Mendelssohn Sinfonia 7

8.00pm Interval

8.20pm Bach The Art of Fugue / Extracts from the Dhammapada

9.20 Hindemith Einleitung
