The Geraldine Festival

Welcome to the Geraldine Festival!

2020 marks the 32nd consecutive year of the Festival in our boutique town of Geraldine, following 30 years known as the Geraldine Arts and Plants Festival.

This year the festival official opening will be held on Thursday the 12th November 2020. The Alpine Energy Art and Photographic Exhibition will have on display art from local artists, as well as from around New Zealand, together with a great selection of photographs. The exhibition opens on the Thursday at 7pm until Sunday 22nd November closing at 3pm. Contact gldarts@xtra.co.nz if you’d like an application form.

Experience unique shopping in our local shops and an amazing selection of over 130 stalls on Friday at our market day. A sensational day out for all, save the date and make a day of it with your friends and family and enjoy the beautiful country setting of our wonderful town!

… or, make a weekend of it and stay for Saturday and Sunday too – but get in quick if you need accommodation as our many fantastic accommodation providers get booked out that weekend. On Saturday visit the “Big Day” where most shops in town will be open and over 250 wonderful stalls down at the domain – something for everyone.

Following the success of “Battle of the Sounds” last year, we’re excited to bring it back this year. A fantastic opportunity for a group, duo or solo artist to walk away with the $5,000 first prize.
