3pm Workshop: informative and practical with something for everyone as participants learn how to play and perform some of the new songs in the band’s repertoire. A little bit of experience will be of value, though even beginners should have some tips to take away with them.
Nuke’s workshops are always fun, inclusive and engaging- (just like their shows) and participants will be taking away with them workshop resources to help them apply their new knowledge to their playing. Great value we say!
In their show they’ll be playing some old favourites from their back catalogue, such as ‘Lemon-tree’ and ‘Island Queen’ (and perhaps the odd request from the
audience), plus a swag of new songs to introduce to fans around the country.
The Nukes are one of Australasia’s most successful ukulele/ folk acts with more than 10 years under their belts and 3 compelling albums as proof of their creative endeavours (and well in excess of 100,000 streams and views).
Don’t duck and cover, don’t try and be a hero…just gather all your friends and head for ground zero.

The Nukes have appeared at WOMAD NZ , SPLORE , Auckland and Canterbury
Folk Festivals , Oamaru Heritage Festival, New Plymouth Festival Of Light, Wanaka Festival Of Colour, Coastella Festival , The Taranaki, Southland and Hawkes Bay
Arts Festivals , Bluff Oyster Festival and a successful nationwide Arts On Tour NZ March 2017, They have also toured extensively in Australia.
Reviews:
"seriously good musicians….foot tapping riffs…..comic and engaging… with vocals so clear a deaf man could forget his hearing aids and still have a ball…"
Sam Edwards, Waikato Times, February 14th 2020
