Join The Wellington Feminist Poetry Club in 2020 as the nerdiest kids in school deliver you a whip-smart and biting night of spoken word poetry. The capital’s sharpest literary students will be taking the podium with moving, lyrical and even comedic stories of modern girlhood, queer resistance, or anything they damn well please! The curriculum is enticing, the reading list is moreish and the homework, nonexistent. It’s the most entertaining extracurricular activity about.

Door sales only, sliding scale $5-$10.

Want to get initiated? Anyone can join the club! If you’d like to read at one of our events, get in touch with Hugo Grrrl. Male-identifying people welcome too.

Please note! Seating is not allocated so make sure to arrive early to nab a good vantage point. Doors open one hour before showtime, latecomers may not be admitted, and door sales are cash only. No stag dos. The event space is located upstairs, but please get in touch before the gig if you have any accessibility concerns so we can best help you out.

Make sure to follow the Hugo Grrrl page for updates on more dope, affordable gigs near you.
