After a sell-out Season at the Whangārei Fringe Festival, 'The Willing Horse' has returned!
The Willing Horse written by Isobel Andrews.
Written 80 years ago this play tells the story of Kate Wilkes, never married, who spends her time buttering bread in the kitchen for the community dance while playing cupid for her young friend. Although it is a comedy 'The Willing Horse' also ‘deftly conveys the isolation many women must have suffered in communities where marriage for a woman was the be-all and end-all’ (Ralph Atkinson - Pukapuka Aotearoa).
This show is being presented as part of a fundraiser season for ONEONESIX.
ONEONESIX is Whangārei's local black box theatre, supporting many local and touring performances and community events.
