'Unreal!' with Ewan McDougall & Claire Hughes

'Unreal!' is a touring exhibition of paintings by Dunedin artist Ewan McDougall and Virtual Reality by multi-media artist Claire Hughes.

When Claire Hughes suggested to Ewan McDougall that they collaborate on a Virtual Reality Exhibition he leapt at the chance. McDougall is known for his lively, expressive paintings of people and animals. They make perfect material for a multi-media artist like Hughes.

Hughes describes her work with McDougall as “more than a 3-D reproduction of an artwork, it will use McDougall’s characters to create a new interactive experience.” Viewers will see the paintings and don a VR Headset and become immersed in the vibrant world of the figures as they cavort in virtual space.

Please Note: The Virtual Reality element of the exhibition will be available to experience when NZ is on Alert Level 1. The exhibition and opening is possible under Alert Level 2.
