Commemorate the 180th Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi with others.
Join dignitaries and the public at Atea a Rangi Waitangi Park 7:45 am for a 20-minute hikoi (walk) along the riverbank to the Clive bridge where we will be welcomed by a haka powhiri by local marae, kaumatua and Te Aute College students.
After the powhiri (welcome) there will be an opportunity to sign a Peace Treaty, hear about the significance of this site which is close to where the Treaty was signed by three chiefs in June, 1840. The event will close with a cup of tea and end about 10 am. All welcome, Nau mai Haere mai!
