Kate Meads

Attend Kate Meads' longest-running and most popular workshop to become inspired and entertained about ways you can minimize waste in your home whilst babies are around - In a first-of-its-kind ONLINE format!

What else? You will receive a free pack full of waste minimization products, including a couple of cloth nappies to have a go at! These will be couriered out to you. Note, this may take a couple of weeks after the workshop has run it's course.

Note, you MUST be from Ashburton District to book tickets and attend this workshop, as it is funded by the local council - We will ask your postal address both to send out your gift pack and confirm this.

Did you know… That each baby goes through approximately 5500 nappy changes throughout their childhood? That’s a lot of single-use items being thrown out across New Zealand!

About Kate:
For over 10 years, Kate Meads has been travelling the country delivering waste minimisation seminars, with topics ranging from cloth nappies, right through to re-usable coffee cups. Kate is extremely passionate about her work and believes that education and the sharing of knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have in the battle against waste. Kate strongly believes that “If everyone did just one small thing for our environment every single day, we will start to make a difference that will count”.

Kate also prides herself on being “real”. She often jokes about the fact that she isn’t perfect, nor does she expect anyone to be. The workshop is a great place to learn what you can do, however, and whether it’s big or small, any change in the right direction is a good change.

“Attended the Waste Free Parenting workshop in Havelock North a couple of days ago. To tell you the truth, I hadn't expected it to be such an entertaining evening - there were tears of laughter - but Kate has a great way of bridging the brain-gap between the enormous magnitude of the waste problem, and the genuine differences that can be made by seemingly small individual choices. Highly recommend.” - Deanna, a recent attendee

Ticket Info:
Tickets admit 1 person/household to the online workshop which is accessible from the Eventfinda page you booked your ticket from, and you receive 1 pack of waste minimization products too! The workshop is pre-recorded and you will have at least a couple of weeks to view the event.

There are limited spaces and packs available.
