Trees That Count

Trees That Count, together with our friends Wakatipu Reforestation Trust, Z Energy and QLDC warmly invite you to join us in planting the first 1000 native trees of this Welcome Forest, as a symbol of togetherness and honouring your place in Aotearoa.

A native forest to welcome our migrant communities and newcomers to the Wakatipu Basin.

This is your forest. By planting native trees with us, we hope your connection to the land deepens as you grow roots of your own in your community and Aotearoa.

We want this to be a forest where all of New Zealand’s whānau can feel at home. A place to feel the protection of Papatūānuku (Earth Mother) and Ranginui (Sky Mother) as they connect us to this land, and our community.

Like all of New Zealand’s native forests, this will be a place where you can find calm, inspiration and a place to unwind with your friends and family.

Bring all the family, stay for some tasty kai afterwards and grab a goodie bag for the kids! The event is free but we ask that people register so we can cater and ensure we can contact trace.
