West Side Story - Napier Girls & Napier Boys High Schools

Napier Girls’ High and Napier Boys’ High Schools join together to bring to the stage one of the most memorable musicals of all time, West Side Story.

This musical is a modern-day version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet set in New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the American Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. This musical is an impressive showcase of sophisticated music and songs, extended dance scenes and outstanding dramatic moments.

A musical based on Arthur Laurnent’s book, with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and music by Leonard Bernstein, is one of the greatest love stories of all time.

The talent, energy and passion these students bring to the stage in this production of West Side Story is impressive. This definitely is a production not to be missed.
