Craft a cat cave house out of pure natural wool, for your beloved feline. Learn advanced skills in wet felting to create this fantastic cat cave house in a Saturday! All materials included in course fee. $10 per enrollment will be donated to Wellington Cat's Protection League!

Description
Make a cat cave house for your pet in this fun creative class. Join Yula, our award-winning fibre artist, and gain skills in advanced wet-felting techniques. Learn about the properties of woollen fibres and how best to manipulate and process them to create a seamless 3D cat-cave-house. You'll also have the opportunity to try your hand at basic pattern drafting. Finally, you'll enjoy decorating your cat-cave to you and your puss-cat’s taste!

Yula is an animal lover so it is important to her that no animal suffers as part of her creative practice. Felting for her is an art form that is life focused and respects the lives of the animals whose fibre she uses to make her art.

Combining her love of animals and her creative fibre practice, Yula’s "Cat Cave House" class is representative of both herself as a compassionate person and as an artist. You will enjoy an inclusive class environment as well as the satisfaction of having a wonderful cat house you have made yourself. Your cat will love you!

All materials included in course fee, but please bring a large container to carry your cat-cave home in as it will still be wet by the end of the class.

Tea and coffee provided for your breaks, but please bring a snack and a cup to help save on disposables.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

- Develop the ability to lay wool out and combine wool with other fibres or fleeces.
- Make the product seamless.
- Count the correlation of wool microns with the comfort factor of felt.
- Apply the layout and methods of felting as a leverage for shrinkage.
- Calculate and make your pattern and be able to decorate your felt.
- Develop the ability of cutting through and processing your felt.

Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. If you need to cancel your registration, here are our terms and conditions: "What You Need to Know".
