Do you know what Regenerative Agriculture is?

Friends of Banks Peninsula’s new subcommittee 'Regenerate' is delighted to have three of Canterbury’s top regenerative agriculture experts speaking to the community. Farmers talking to farmers.

You may already recognise these names - Jono Frew has been touring New Zealand with farmer Peter Barrett who featured in a recent Country Calendar episode that went viral around farming communities, with farmers then requesting workshops all around the country, with events being booked out. Also speaking is former hill country farmer Sam Lang, now manager of the farming network ‘Quorum Sense’, and our very own Cornelia Holten from Pigeon Bays KoruKia Herb Farm, a Regen Ag horticulturist with a wealth of knowledge in soil health and holistic farming approaches.

Farming on Banks Peninsula has often followed regenerative farming principles but we never had a name for the farming we do, or understood how it works. From grazing sheep, cattle, dairy herds and cropping to small scale lifestyle blocks and gardens you can improve pasture, soil and animal health, reduce inputs, increase profits and sequester carbon, benefiting on many levels from a more holistic approach.

Join us to hear their stories and ask questions. All welcome - koha donation to cover travel expenses for the speakers.
