It’s time to celebrate the end of lockdown and the return of White Chapel Jak, who kick-off their “Return of the Jak - Here’s to us Nu Zuland!” live music tour this August to December 2020.

DOORS OPEN: 7.30pm
BAND ON STAGE: 8.30pm to 10.30pm

Known for putting an acoustic, funk-groove spin on upbeat songs everyone knows and loves, their 13-stop tour will include a number of North Island locations before the end of the year including Auckland, Rotorua, Mt Maunganui, Upper Hutt, Mangawhai, Coromandel, Napier, Leigh, Whangarei, and Warkworth.

The four-piece acoustic band (with a big band sound) claimed the Radio New Zealand 2018 Battle of the Covers Band title and have performed more than 600 gigs NZ-wide since 2014 including Soundsplash 2020 and the Bay of Islands ‘iT’ festival.

Accompanied by the Auckland Symphony Orchestra they headlined the Auckland SeePort Festival for a crowd of 15,000 in January 2020, and opened for Alanis Morrissette at the 2018 Summer Concert Tour and Bonnie Tyler at 2017 Summer Concert Tour.

“We’re so excited to celebrate what New Zealand, as a team of five-million, have achieved during lockdown”, Bonnie Hurunui, lead singer and rhythm guitarist says. “Like many others, our livelihoods though our ability to entertain and perform was taken away during lockdown. Now, we’re back and we couldn’t be more excited and ready to raise the roof and celebrate! Here’s to us New Zealand!”

Bonnie is known and loved for her larger than life stage presence and highly impressive sculpted hair. Her soulful voice and magnetic personality captivate every audience member.

The masterful Dean Tinning lays out groove based beats that make you want to move your feet. Nicknamed “The Viking” his suitcase bass drum, cajon and percussion practically drives you to the dance floor.

Posessing equal measures of cool and quiet, legally blind Michael White can stand on his double bass while playing big phat funky lines. With a cheeky personality and rather dashing smile to boot, Nathan Boston on lead guitar knows how to truly light up the fretboard.

White Chapel Jak are back and can’t wait to see you all on the dance floor!
