Do you want to be a fire master, or begin your journey to learn the age old techniques of wood firing. Fall in love with flames, wood and the beautiful effects that are unique to wood fired pottery.

The Wood firing workshop series is suited for those who have an interest in wood firing and wanting to learn more and those who are more serious and are wanting to work towards becoming a fire master to run their own and the WSP wood firings.

Join Ginny Lane in creating pieces suited for wood firing and moving beyond the electric kiln to explore the dramatic surfaces of Wood firing in our very own Phoenix Kiln.

Learn from a master, the right clay to use, the right glazes and slips to use, to create dramatic wood fired ceramics. The final 4 days will be quite extensive for those wishing to become a master firer covering health and safety, pre cleaning of the kiln, treatment of kiln shelves, stacking wood, making wadding, kiln washing shelves, loading the kiln, firing and post firing processes. This is is sure to be an event to remember and for those who successfully complete the workshop will give you the skills to become a fire master.
