Tai Tapu Sculpture Garden is an evolving sculpture garden and native regeneration project. Visit our March exhibition to enjoy a relaxing and inspiring hour or two, just 20 minutes' drive from Christchurch's CBD. Family-friendly event.

Participating Artists
Graham Bennett, Tony Bond, Ivan Clayden, Bing Dawe, Neil Dawson, Alison Erickson, Ben Foster, Fiona Garlick, Natalie Guy, Sam Harrison, Anna Korver, Tim Main, Rory McDougall, Annabel Menzies-Joyce, Doug Neil, Tony O’Grady, Oriah Rapley, Jenny Reeve, Rebecca Rose, Julie Ross, Hamish Southcott, Debbie Templeton-Page, Roger Thompson, Robyn Webster, Olivia Webb, Evan Webb, Jane Whales, Jim Wheeler, Matt Williams, and Grant Wylie.

We also have a selection of small and large works by the late Llew Summers, some of which have never been exhibited.

And, of course, visitors will also enjoy works in the permanent collection by some of the artists named above and other leading sculptors, including Andrew Drummond, Johnny Turner and Marté Szirmay.

Sculptures
Artists work across media, from local stone to iron, to bronze and steel, from flax to timber to ceramic to light. There are over 70 artworks for sale.

Park Details
Entry is $10pp and free to 16-years-and-under during the exhibition. There is variable cell phone reception (depends on your network) and no Eftpos. There is one very clean portaloo on site for the duration of the exhibition, hand sanitiser and a cold water tap.

All are welcome and onsite parking is free. The Garden is pram and wheelchair friendly. All tracks are grassed and the terrain is mostly flat. Picnickers are welcome during open hours. There are two dogs on the property, so if you're bringing yours, please make sure they're well-behaved and on a lead (please take their poop with you).

On Sunday 14 March the gates open earlier, at 10am, to better suit families with little ones who nap from noon. All are welcome.

Stay fueled with Tally Ho Espresso onsite the first and third weekend.

TSG is in a sheltered valley. Often when it's grey and drizzly in town it's lovely at TSG. We always recommend a sunhat and a jacket so you're covered for all weathers.

About Tai Tapu Sculpture Garden and Native Regeneration Project
Our mission is to support contemporary sculpture practice in New Zealand and to enhance native biodiversity in Canterbury.

Since Autumn 2010 over 8000 native trees and shrubs have been planted. Our aim is to recreate a podocarp forest of totara, matai, and kahikatea. The garden is also home to rare or threatened native plants of Canterbury. This once bare one-hectare paddock is thriving. It is a sanctuary to native birds and sculpture lovers alike.

Make a Day of It
Enjoy brunch or lunch at our local favourites: The Raspberry Cafe, The Store at Tai Tapu and The Bicycle Thief.
