Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland. This course is offered in partnership with Nourish Holistic Nutrition in their garden and restaurant at Waiuku.

Join Gautam and Rama at Nourish Holistic Nutrition in Waiuku, South Auckland, for a sumptuous, healthful garden to table food experience.

"People are always asking me where to go for a curry in London. But why would I know? I never go out for a curry." Madhur Jaffrey.

She is famously known as the woman who taught the British to make a curry and we totally agree with her. Nothing beats Indian food made at home – it is fresh, has a unique blend of spices and it preserves our health. Wholesome food, with endless flavours - we call it Ghar Ka Khana. Set to our Eating for Health model, this lunch features hand picked recipes made in homes across India.

The cooking class will teach Maa Ki Dal and the interactive activity will produce roti/thepla.

Maa Ki Dal and roti will be served with:
-Paneer (Veg) OR Chicken Panch Phoran
-Gajar Ka Achar
-Tamatar Chutney
-Lemon / Cashew Rice
-Saffron & Mango Kulfi
-Masala Chai

After the cooking demonstration and interactive activity, the group will enjoy a convivial luncheon to enjoy the prepared dishes. You'll also get an opportunity to view the wonderful kitchen garden. Make a day of it and visit the nearby spectacular windswept beach and cliffs of Karioitahi, discover the charms of Waiuku township with its quaint museum and heritage architecture, or the Awhitu Regional Park, about 20 minutes north of Nourish Holistic Nutrition.

Our mission is to provide quality affordable and accessible lifelong learning opportunities for our community.
