In this introduction to screenwriting you will learn the simple framework that all of the great movies we know and love are built on, and be given the tools to drive your own stories forwards in screenplay form. This is a practical class that will invite you to start developing and writing your own short script as you are guided through conceptualisation, story development, structure and script formatting. Whether you have an idea already or need support to develop one this is a great start for people interested in having a go at screenwriting.

“After only a few hours of tuition, I came away with a good grounding in the art of writing a synopsis and a logline as a basis for a story and had begun the process of fleshing it out. It was time well spent: the course delivered what it promised, a good introduction to screenwriting, and in viewing some short films hand-picked by Josh, I got some insight into a world I knew very little about previously. I also learned what software is available, and gained some experience in using it. I could not have asked for a more enthusiastic, supportive and conscientious tutor and the time flew by in his classes.” - Wendy Wethey

Joshua Winger has worked in the film industry for fourteen years and started a small production company in 2012, littleislandfilms.com, where he ran an actors studio, and wrote & directed numerous short films, before winning a scholarship to move to Sydney to do a Master of Arts in Directing. He considers himself a lifetime student of the craft of filmmaking and is currently developing a feature film.
