Auckland Live has created the perfect place to chill, feast and have fun this winter, right here in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland: Aotea Square.
The hub of the activity is the Aotea Square Ice Rink and Ice Slide, the inner city’s favourite magical winter playground for kids and grownups alike, and already attracting hundreds of skaters every day.
Then there are The Snugs - the coolest private dining experience in town and back this winter for cosy catchups, hangouts, and meals.
Kitted out with comfy furniture, blankets, and heaters, the five eye-catching geodesic domes are the perfect spots for rugging up and relaxing at the snuggest winter catchups with friends, team lunches, birthday parties or pre-show meals.
Bookings for The Snugs are available Monday to Sunday, at selected times throughout the day and evening. To book, simply choose from a selection of delicious day and evening menus*, choose the time you would like to attend (each Snug seats up to eight people, including kids), and Auckland Live will take care of the rest!
Returning this winter to deliver the tastiest sights and smells to the Square is the much-loved immersive food experience, the Auckland Night Markets, offering authentic international cuisine from dumplings to Hungarian flat bread to churros and everything in-between. Each night you can browse and sample from a delicious selection of cuisines from around the world, and tuck into your favourites as well as discover new ones. You can dine al fresco in the Square, choose to takeout, or enjoy your meal inside your booked Snug - the perfect spot to soak up the hustle and bustle of the Night Markets around you.
Amidst the activity in the Square, the Auckland Live Digital Stage offers a backdrop of beauty and inspiration with screenings of the ultimate Southern Ocean adventure, Go Further South. Penguins, icebergs, and orca are in abundance as cameras take a slow and stunning journey through the awe-inspiring landscapes of the sub-Antarctic.
