Motorcyclist and writer Des Molloy will be giving a talk about his three books – No One Said It Would Be Easy: A Youthful Folly Across The Americas On Old Bikes, The Last Hurrah: From Beijing To Arnhem, and Zen And The Last Hurrah: In The Wheel-Tracks of Robert Pirsig Across Backcountry America.
As you can tell from his books’ titles, Des really loves going on epic trips on motorbikes.
Des says, “A lifetime motorcyclist and writer, I was once described as a peregrinator. I prefer dreamer and schemer ... or perhaps most accurately, muse. My dream job would be a position as an evangelist bringing two-wheeled enlightenment into non-motorcyclist's lives.”
Des has ridden across more than 50 countries on older, simpler motorcycles; the newest being a 1972 Russian Ural, the oldest 'Bessie' a 1937 BSA.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to discover how Des has combined his love for motorbikes and adventure, with writing.
Des’ talk will be followed by a meeting of the Richmond Writing Group. Both events are free and everyone is welcome.
These events will only take place if we are at Level 1.
