We are thrilled to share that 2021 will be the 35th Anniversary of our Blue Lake Multisport Festival!

A major cash prize will be up for grabs for both King and Queen of the Lake awarded to the fastest overall time across the three main events (Aquathon, 2km swim, sprint tri).

There will also be prizes for winners of individual events and lots of spot prizes from our great sponsors! Further information will be added over the coming weeks.

King & Queen of the Lake – Series

To qualify for the King & Queen of the Lake series, you must complete the Aquathon; 2 km Open Water Swim; and the Sprint Tri.

30 January 2021
8.30 am – GO Physio Aquathon
A reverse Aquathon – a 5.5km offroad run followed by an 800m swim (2 x 400m laps)

11.00 am – Lumberjax Mini Golf Kids Triathlon
The kid's triathlon is a great first step into triathlon, or an ideal follows up from the Weetbix Tryathlon series.

The distances are approximately 100m swim/2km bike/1km run.
Please note the kids’ tri always sells out in advance of the event, and event numbers are strictly limited to 150 children across all categories. To avoid disappointment, enter early.

4:00 pm – Polynesian Spa Open Water Swim – 2km (including the Hinemoa Trophy)
Competitors will catch a bus to the Blue Lake Lookout. Buses will leave at 3:20pm and 3:40pm. All competitors must be on the start by 3:50pm for the race briefing.

Race briefing: 3:50pm at the Blue Lake Lookout beach. The Hinemoa Swim trophies are award to the first male and female competitors that complete the 2km swim without wetsuits.

4.00 pm – Polynesian Spa Open Water Swim – 750m
One lap of the swim course, in the beautiful & iconic Blue Lake. Starting on the beach opposite the holiday park, and finishing at the main gantry.

31 January 2021
8:30 am – Cyclezone Sprint Triathlon
Swim – 750m Swim / Cycle – 16km (Two 8km laps) / Run – One x 5.5km off-road Run around the lake

8:30 am – GoodR Tikitapu Taster Tri
Swim – 400m Swim / Cycle – 8km (one lap) / Run – An offroad run on a shorter course (2 to 3km in length) to finish.

8:30 am - Waimangu Valley 5.5km Offroad Fun Run & Walk
This is a non-competitive fun run or walk. Competitors will be eligible for spot prizes.
Race Briefing: 8:15am at the Finish line
