Board Ball First Meetup - Come Make History

Come join our very first Board Ball event and make history!

Board Ball is a sport we invented which is a cross between tennis and volleyball played in an actual ditch with a rectangular wooden board.

Sound ridiculous?
Yes but surprisingly the game plays extremely well! As good racket sport players ourselves, we can testify that board ball is our personal favourite sport due to the tactical gameplay and incredible workout it provides. This game is FUN, but you have to try it for yourself to understand why.

FREE BBQ AND DRINKS!
To celebrate Board Ball's very first official event, there will be a BBQ set up with free sausages for all players with free drinks.

HOW TO PLAY:
Board Ball can either be played as singles or doubles.
It's similar to Volleyball, although you can let the ball bounce on the ground once if you want and scoring is the same as the old way they scored badminton (need the serve to win a point).

WHY PLAY IN A DITCH?
The ditch adds a lot of strategy with how the ball bounces on the angles creating a lot of fun opportunities, especially by going against your opponent's movements, its a lot harder to change directions in a ditch.

The best shots are also typically right down the line where the ditch tapers off, it's riskier but really pays off for skilled players.

And if you like it we are forming teams where you can compete and play more regularly.

LOCATION:
Park at 9 Tussock lane, around the Ferrymead Dental clinic and then walk towards the water, you'll see us set up there on the grass (behind the dental clinic).
