This workshop will run in two formats in 2021. 8 and 15 June 7 - 9 PM over two Tuesdays as an evening course, and 9 AM - 12 PM as a Saturday workshop on 2 May.
From minions to penguins, elephants to giraffes, and roses to wild flowers, this class will introduce you to working with sugar paste and modelling fondant to make basic animals, flowers and figurines.
Continue developing your cake decorating skills with chef Tim. This course has a focus on fondant and sugar paste decorations to create wonderful creations for children's cakes and other special occasion cakes.
Bring the following recommended list of equipment:
-Small metal or glass bowl;
- 2 x tea towels;
- Glad wrap
- Paper towels
- An apron
- Any additional cake decorating equipment you may currently possess such as a piping bag, piping nozzles, palette knife, crimpers, pastry brush, fine paint brushes (if you do not have any equipment please do not go out and purchase anything at this point as there will be spare equipment available to use for the night and the tutor will advise you on the best type of equipment to purchase)
- A container to take home your creations.
All ingredients (fondant, sugar paste and colourings) will be provided.
Who should attend? This course is a stand-alone course teaching modelling of small decorations to place upon an iced cake. It is not essential to have attended our introduction to cake decorating course (although you will need to attend this course at some stage if you wish to learn how to cover a cake with icing).
