Children's Day I Te rā o ngā Tamariki: POSTPONED

We want everyone to stay safe, especially our tamariki. Now that we are in Alert Level 2, Children's Day / Te rā o ngā Tamariki has been postponed. We are looking forward to hosting the event at a later date and will provide an update of the rescheduled date as soon as possible.

It promises to be a day full of fun, laughter and creativity in Porirua as we celebrate Te rā o ngā Tamariki / Children's Day.

The day is all about supporting and nurturing our tamariki, honouring their mana and putting them first. What better way to celebrate Children’s Day than with a free event at Aotea Lagoon, packed to the brim with fun?

Kids Crew
Children’s Day is all about our tamariki, and we want them to rule the roost by taking over our Facebook page and creating their own stories, video and photographs. A-Z of things to do:

Arts and Crafts - There will also be plenty of arts and craft areas to nurture the creative juices and imagination of our tamariki.
Bouncy Castles - Keep the kids moving and laughing such as bouncy castles from Awesome Bounce.
Crafting workshops with Bunnings Warehouse - Our friends at Bunnings Warehouse Porirua are offering free crafting workshops for a selected time.
Giant Bubbles - Be mesmerised by the giant bubbles from Little Ben's Big Bubbles, floating through the air.
Farm yard animals - Our friends from Farmyard parties are bringing their animals again this year for a petting good time.
Face painting - Making Faces NZ will be offering free face painting.
Miniature Railway ($2.50 per ride, under 3 free) - Lions Club of Aotea Railway will be up and running with the miniature railway.
Parents Place - Nurtured at Home are also joining us in the parents baby feeding and changing space.
Photo booth - Savour the memory of your Children’s Day experience with Photo Booth Fun who will be joining us this year.
Science experiments - Join Sarah the Scientist in bringing science to life with her sensational bottle rocket launcher.
Splash Pad - water jellies and misters, spray cannons and the massive dumper bucket. Don’t forget to bring your togs and towels!
