CJC presents two emerging bandleaders.

Hugo Middeldorp Quartet
World Anew

Hugo Middeldorp is a pianist/composer and a recent Honours graduate from the University of Auckland's School of Music. With influences ranging from Maurice Ravel, vocal Bulgarian folk music, and Aaron Parks; this original set of music was composed almost entirely during the several lock-downs in 2020 and reflects on nature's disturbingly beautiful force of destruction and in all the ways we are lucky to be alive.

Hugo Middeldorp - Piano
Adrian Hyun Brown - Guitar
Hank Trenton - Bass
Rhohil Kishore - Drums
