The workshop will focus on understanding, integrating, and improving the use of photo imagery in hand-printed screen-print images.
You’ll be given the opportunity to process a photographic image using Photoshop that can be turned into an original screen-print. Experience printing a CMYK image and gain the confidence to pursue the process at home with a set of comprehensive notes including ink recipes and reference materials to take away with you.
The workshop will cater to all levels of digital knowledge and screen print knowledge. Some prior knowledge and interest in pursuing this line of working would be useful.
Be in quick - only 10 spaces available! All levels welcome. Age: 16 +
What to bring:
• Wear an apron or old clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
• If you have a lap top with Adobe Photoshop (and Illustrator – optional) loaded.
• All materials provided.
About the tutor:
Steve Lovett is a practicing artist and art educator who has taught print for three decades at Manukau Institute of Technology Faculty of Creative Arts, and more recently Elam Te Waka Tūhura at the University of Auckland.
One focus of Lovett’s teaching is the interface between digital processing and hand printing.
Lovett maintains an active project-based studio and research practice that is informed by ongoing theoretical investigation.
