Join us at this free outdoor event to hear gardener and author Matt Morris speak about his 2020 book 'Common Ground: Garden histories of Aotearoa' in the garden here at Katherine Mansfield House & Garden.

'Common Ground: Garden histories of Aotearoa' takes a loving look at gardens and garden practices in Aotearoa over time. While a lot of gardening books focus on the grand plantings of wealthy citizens, Matt Morris explores the historical processes behind ‘humble gardens’ – those created and maintained by ordinary people.

Copies of Common Ground will be available for sale and Matt will be able to sign them after his talk.

This is a free, outdoor event. Please dress for the weather, including sun protection - if the weather is bad, the event will move to a nearby location indoors. Admission applies for entry to the house before or after the event.
