North Shore Brass (Harmen Vanhoorne) and guest band Auckland City Brass (Mark Close) perform their music that has been carefully prepared for the NZ National Brass Band Championships to be held in Christchurch 14-17 July.
Each band is required to play the test piece for their grade. So North Shore Brass will perform the A grade test piece Of Men And Mountains (Edward Gregson) as well as their sacred item and own choice major piece. This last piece is kept secret so the judge (who is screened away from band at the Nationals) cannot identify who the band performing is.
Auckland City Brass will perform the B grade test piece Temperamental by New Zealand composer Fendall Hill along with their own choice and sacred item.
