Coppermine Junction is composed of four noteworthy names in the Nelson music scene. Each of their journeys started elsewhere (Ireland, Australia & NZ) but their paths have fortuitously crossed in Nelson. Banjo, mandolin, guitar, fiddle and upright bass are employed to deliver a blend of high energy bluegrass rhythms, thoughtful Americana classics and toe-tapping Old Timey tunes.
Steve McGlone (guitar, vocals) and Sean Magee (banjo, mandolin, vocals) provide us with driving bluegrass rhythms and melodies, while Shanine Raggett (fiddle, vocals) adds a layer of superb fiddle and wonderful harmonies. Sue Ware (Bass, Vocals) provides the glue with her solid backbeat on the upright bass. The group is not afraid to blend contemporary rock, pop and dance with traditional bluegrass to keep things fresh.
The band last played in Havelock in 2018 to a full house and Havelock Lions Club are proud to bring them back. Cafe style seating- bring your refreshments, although the Pelorus Community Pre-School will have tasty tidbits and delicious cakes on sale.
The evening is a fundraiser in aid of the much-needed renovations at the Pre-School. Tickets can be purchased from Bow to Stern, phone 574 2941 or through trybooking.
