We love insects at Cornwall Park especially the monarch caterpillars who visit us in the summer months to eat all our swan plants. We love them so much, the garden at our Poplar steps is dedicated to butterflies, planted with flowers and plants both caterpillars and butterflies enjoy eating. In craft corner this month you can make a paper chain caterpillar! Unlike regular caterpillars, these paper caterpillars won't eat all your plants and want to wiggle around with you!
All materials supplied, so you just need to pop-in. Activities suitable for 3 years+, parent supervision required.
Craft Corner is a do-it-yourself station inside Huia Lodge that you can stop in throughout the day. There are no instructors leading the crafts, it is self-lead.
The NZ COVID Tracer QR Code will be present at this event and all participants will be expected to scan the code. The code is also placed around the park, in public toilets and within Huia Lodge Discovery Hub. We ask that all participants continue with their basic hygiene practices while at the event and in the park. This includes hand hygiene (washing for 20 seconds, drying thoroughly or using hand sanitiser), coughing or sneezing into your elbow, and avoiding touching your face. Hand sanitiser will be available at the event. If you are feeling unwell before the event, we ask that you stay at home.
