Dunedin Fringe

A micro-festival celebrating Dunedin women's artistic and musical creativity showcasing a woman only line-up, offering a complementary alternative to other notable Dunedin Festivals.

This showcase of diverse women’s creative expression will inspire participants to express their own creativity and aspire to centre stage.

Artists: Lucinda King, Kirsten Anne Wenborn (nee Morseth), Nicola Hansby, Lucy Hunter, and Metiria Stanton Turei

Session 1 (12.45pm - 6 pm)

Workshop: Steff Roddick - creativity and mental wellbeing.

Losana & the Pacifica Group. The group of students include vocals, drums, bass, keys and guitar.

Heather LaDell. Singer-songwriter and musical late bloomer from the band Pearl Street.

Neive Strang. Neive's diverse sound fluctuates between songs and has been listed as folk-pop, indie-rock to bedroom pop.

D:MR (Rosa Cameron and Deirdre Newall) Their music is dreamy, whimsical, bass- driven, full of space and grind, and sometimes downright wonky!

The Flukes (Tushar Robins, Su White and Fiona Stuart). A 3-piece ukulele band who play original covers

Session 2 (6.45 pm - midnight)

Workshop: The New Zealand Music Commission - who they are and what they do.

Francisca Griffin is perhaps best known for her bass playing, with a little guitar and vocals thrown in.

Lucy Hunter - a piano player known for her gothic ballads, often concerning twisted desire, the human anatomy and disease.

Flesh Bug - play punchy and peculiar noise rock that is both pleasant and unpleasant at the same time.

Human Susan (Connie Benson, Ruth Crowe, Caitlin Lester, Perry Goldsmith and Jenny Duncan) are a crunchy and sparkly cosmic soup, a group of five creative women who want to make noise and songs.
