The Rotokare Loop is back again on the Taranaki MTB event list. Challenge yourself on the 17km or 30km loops.

Registration from 7:30am, Briefing 9:15am, Ride starts - Loop30 first wave at 9:30am, Loop17 First wave at 9:35am

Loop17
Starts at the Rawhitiroa Pools and heads through dairyland on the Eltham Swamp.
Follows the ‘paper road’ Old Lake Road and climbs through a variety of country to the Maata Road, back through dairy farms to Rawhitiroa Pools. The course has a mix of farm races, grass paddocks, grass/dirt tracks and gravel roads.

Loop30
Starts at the Rawhitiroa Pools and heads through dairyland on the Eltham Swamp.
Follows the ridge overlooking eastern hill country and drops into the Makino Valley Road. The course travels through sheep and beef farmland, then follows the Ararata Stream, climbing through a variety of country to the Maata Road, back through dairy farms to Rawhitiroa Pools. . The course has a mix of farm races, grass paddocks, grass/dirt tracks and gravel roads.

Note: Both rides are Grade 3 (Intermediate) - Suitable for regularly experienced cyclists with a good level of fitness and over 12 years old; children should be accompanied by an adult (Mountain Biking New Zealand)

E-mountain bikes are suitable provided they are ridden appropriately, have sufficient battery capacity, and the rider is capable of completing the trail in the event of a battery/power failure.
