Exhibition: Chris Davis – Where the sun is silent

Davis’ allegorical portraits hold something of the mystical, the extra-terrestrial and the celestial. Vivid hues and bold lighting, reminiscent of cinematic rendering of space, through heavy blacks and jewel tones. The subject floats suspended in the frame, as if a soul suspended on its journey through time.

The allegory here rests in the continuum of the series. Each soulful subject moving in the same manner, simultaneously through space and time, but in its own distinct aura, capturing a snippet of the expansive mystics of the world and fragile human form.
