Join us at Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House on Sunday afternoons at 2.30pm for a Fireside Lecture Series: 25 July - 22 August 2021.

Ever thought to yourself, if only these walls could speak? Learn how to research and uncover the stories and secrets held within the walls of your family home in this intriguing talk. Dr Christine Whybrew will share tips and tricks for tracing previous occupants and their daily lives, and share some new findings from her work on Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House.

Dr Christine Whybrew, Manager Heritage Assets for the Southern Region of Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, leads the teams that care for and operate the historic properties in the South Island under the organisation's ownership and was instrumentally involved in the transformation of Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House into a visitor experience and event space.

Tea, coffee, alcohol-free mulled wine and cake available for cash purchase from 2pm.

There is no parking onsite, so please find a park in the surrounding streets or at the University of Canterbury's Clyde Carpark on Arts Road (free on weekends).
